Ballard Spahr is representing TD Bank in a lawsuit against the city of Harrisburg aimed at recouping part of nearly $300 million the city owes the bank related to an incinerator project, according to news reports.
This comes after Ballard Spahr represented the city last year related to administrative services for Mayor Linda Thompson, according to those reports. The firm was paid $13,000 last year. Now its client, TD Bank, is seeking $35 million in debt owed by the city.
Check out a report from The Legal's sister publication, The Am Law Daily, here.
Harrisburg has been plagued with economic troubles and hired Cravath Swaine & Moore last year to help it decide whether to file a Chapter 9 bankruptcy. The firm agreed to do the work pro bono. Read The Legal's article on that here.
