Talking Points Memo has interesting background on the Fitzgerald brothers, who head up the Wisconsin state senate and assembly.

“Big Fitz” is Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, while “Little Fitz” is Assembly Speaker Jeff.  “Papa Fitz” was appointed by Gov. Scott Walker as superintendent of the Wisconsin State Police–the posse Walker said he’d send out to round up the 14 Democratic state senators who fled the state to block a vote on Walker’s bill to strip public workers of collective bargaining rights. Papa’s appointment by Walker “didn’t pass the small test,” as TPM quotes the Wisconsin State Journal.

The little dynasty’s relationship with Walker earned Wisconsin the nickname “FitzWalkerstan” from State Rep. Mark Pocan (D).
