There’s a lot happening on the legal news front Tuesday. Let’s get you up to speed with a quick roundup.
Burned Stern? Radio shock jock Howard Stern sued Sirius XM Radio on Tuesday, alleging that the satellite-radio station failed to pay stock awards promised were Stern to boost the company’s subscriber levels. The suit, filed in New York State Supreme Court, alleges that Stern was entitled to stock grants based on subscriber levels for 2008 and 2009, but that they weren’t paid. More Evidence Against Raj: Raj Rajaratnam’s insider-trading trial continued on Tuesday, with Raj’s old friend, former Intel executive Rajiv Goel. The men, who had been friends for 25 years, barely looked at each other as Goel testified for the government against Rajaratnam.
Goel testified he gave the Galleon Group founder secret information about Intel because “we were very good friends.” (WSJ)
3M Reaches Discrimination Settlement: 3M has offered to pay up to $12 million to settle a lawsuit that accused the company of discriminating against older workers in performance evaluations, promotions and layoffs.
