Y'all know my friend and survivor S.S. lived there and so I have that first picture of the old girl before she succumbed to a fire so intense that it took the life of Robert Taylor and smoldered for 5 more days. The fire also depleted all of the overtime kitty for the local firefighters. Here is a related story on Taylor and my personal interest in fire stories.

PS: For way of perspective look at the utility pole. Her apartment was on the top floor, four windows toward the middle. On information and belief, Robert Taylor's apartment was on the end of the building, on the third floor, on the corner you are looking at in photos 2 and 3.
