A Slap In The Face

My Mom & Dad built their new place to capture the views:

I think they did a decent job.

And now, I am back. BISMOW and I both finally unpacked for semi-good (I have a trip to an amazing lakefront community on the Great Lakes planned the week between graduation & Bar/Bri....mostly becuase I have that mythical eccentric wealthy great uncle with a gigantic home & yacht who invited me up as a congratulations! you are a lawyer! gift even though I haven't seen or spoken to him since I was three.)

And in other news....
Upon return I went through my mail. It was composed of three envelopes:

- My energy bill

- A letter informing me my first student loan payment (law school only costs $50,000 a year for 3 years) is due next month

- A letter informing me that my (private) health care rate is going up (again) next month

Ahh vacation. I'm sure there are moldy veggies in my crisper as well but I refuse to look. Instead I begged BISMOW to take me out for sushi and pretend like the real world wasn't staring me down like a rabid mountain lion. Because, uh, you know. Those rabid mountain lions. Ferocious really. Just like the real world. It is almost enough to make me want to go back to Utah. Almost.
