: Misleading Advertising LawOntario, Feversham man facing 39 counts of fraud
Image via Wikipedia
"The charges stem from an investigation that began in 2007, when Grey County OPP received a complaint alleging that the suspect had fraudulently received money from lenders. The investigation revealed that between January 2000 and August 2007 the accused operated a telecommunications business through which he approached individuals in Grey, Bruce and Simcoe Counties requesting that they invest money with him.
The accused advised these individuals of an opportunity to purchase exclusive territory rights being offered to him by an established telecommunications service provider, and he offered to pay them a rate of return on their investment.
The individuals provided funds to the accused, however the opportunity to purchase exclusive rights to the service provider's territory did not exist.
As a result of the investigation, Wilhlem (Bill) Calvin Muller, 46, of Feversham, was arrested on May 28 and charged with 31 counts of fraud over $5,000 and eight counts of fraud under $5,000."
Uh, 8 years of a biz op fraud with about 40 victims. Not a bad run.
