After the love-fest that was yesterday, I find myself with nothing. I've got nothing for you people. Nothing interesting, exciting, funny, or unusual.

Other than the fact that I'm in loooove with my physical therapist as I spent a lovely 45 minutes this morning with a deep tissue massage to all of mah afflicted shoulder muscles with the occasional request to move my arm and report back if hurt more or less. Yes. I could get used to that. And he gave BISMOW homework of giving me a bicep tendon massage for 10 minutes every night, and if you have never had a bicep tendon massage I suggest you get thee to a therapist who will make you groan. In a good way. Ha.

And then, as I strolled into my office 45 minutes late, wearing my sweat pants & requisite Tulane t-shirt, carrying a coffee and sort of just, you know, enjoying the endorphins from the massage, I ran into Mr. BPLF. Which let me just say, totally killed my high because I couldn't really yell out "I have physical therapy! I've cleared it with my boss! I'm only taking a 15 minute lunch today!" so instead I just kind of skulked into the elevator and thanks Jesus above that I have less than a week left at this joint.

Yeah thats right. Today and next week, until 5 pm on Thursday when I am released from the plaintiff's world and I switch sides. To become a defender of all things medical. To argue that Doctor's made judgment calls, they didn't commit malpractice, they simply made a judgment calls that in retrospect, eh, not so good.

Not that I don't believe in medical malpractice. I truly believe real, negligent screw ups happen. I've met families who lost their father who was sent home from the ER with a "runny nose" instruction, when he had specifically been complaining of chest pain not a runny nose, who died in his sleep the that night of, shocker, a heart attack. I've met people who had brain surgery on the wrong side of their brain, and brain damaged infants whose laboring mother's were forgotten about and who didn't deliver their baby in time. I've met people who were not told they had cancer until 3 years after their doctors knew. But? I also know, that for every "good case" I've seen, there are people who are pissed off & angry that they didn't get the answer they wanted the minute they walked into a hospital. People who view the judicial system as a cash register they can dip into when they are low on funds. People who have no real injury, but their medical course didn't go "as planned" so they think they should sue someone. For those people? I'm ready to go defend some health care providers.

Yes. Now, down off soap box, exit stage left. I have to go explain to BISMOW how to give me a bicep tendon massage.
