: Thanks, But No Thanks.Sportsmanship: Not just for tennis anymore
So, fellow law students: Now Is The Time: Shut up.
Stop talking. You had your chance. The votes are in. If your guy won, congratulations. If your guy lost: I promise you, this is not the apocalypse.
I know, the Superbowl is very far away, and the World Series is over. There are so few things for you to make sweeping, unqualified proclamations about these days. I know that's what law students are good at. But please? For me?
You see- politics is not a football game. We're not teams- we're voters, who, in theory, select the candidate we feel is best suited to run the country. Less of the "rah, rah, my team's the best," and more respect, mk? Sometimes, you win. Sometimes, you lose. Sometimes, you say so very many stupid things you make me want to go be a hermit.
Nobody likes a sore loser or a gloating winner. Is Obama's presidency a magic solution? No. Is it the end of the world? Certainly not. So seriously, guys- let fate run its course, and stop with the prophetic proclamations, for good or bad. Our country is in a nasty spot right now, on a lot of fronts- the incoming president has his work cut out for him. You, raving lunatic in the corner, are not making it easier by alienating the other half of the population.
Senator McCain, thank you for a concession that was gracious and professional.
Senator Obama, best of luck to you.
The rest of you jokers, I'm throwing my highlighter at the first person to offer an election assessment.
