Sex and the City Redux

ADVERTISEMENTS
As I pointed out yesterday, I have recently become totally engrossed in Sex and the City.

In college I was a total Friends junkie, and frankly I still am. I was a sophomore in college when the Friends ended. My roommate and I had a great evening of junk food and drinks, curled up on the couch and watched the last first run episode of our most favorite show. It was bittersweet. I have since of course bought the entire series on DVD and when I'm in a sour mood I turn on some of my favorite episodes to cheer up. So maybe this explains why I was late in discovering Sex and the City.

I got into Sex and the City because a friend of mine drug me out for a night on the town the day the movie premiered this past summer, we got all dressed up, drank cosmos and went to the movie with a giant group of giddy girls ranging from mid 20?s to mid 30?s. I was the only person in the group who had never really seen the show. A few of the girls tried to give me a crash course guide so I would be all caught up for the movie, although it turns out that I didn?t really need any kind of background to be able to thoroughly enjoy the movie. After seeing the movie I was instantly hooked. How in the world did I not know about the greatness that is Sex and the City? I bought the entire series on DVD and for the last 2 months I have been treating myself to a couple of episodes every night, it?s a great way to unwind after a long day at work/school. As of this week, I only have 6 episodes left, which really is kind of depressing because there is something totally great about seeing something for the first time. Although I?m sure re-runs will be entertaining, it?s just not going to be the same.

So thank goodness People Magazine reported this morning that there just might be a movie sequel in the future!!
