Be Nice to Loners CampaignI?ve been reluctant to comment on the tragedy at Virginia Tech. But I did finally see something today that made me want to say something. In this morning?s New York Times, there was a small article in the Arts section about a campaign that has been started on Facebook.com to be nice to loners. The article reported that someone on Facebook.com posted, ??AFTER WHAT HAPPENED ON 4/16/07, IM GONNA TALK & REACH OUT TO EVERY LONER.? Others pledged to smile at people on the street, to greet quiet people and even to visit those who seem isolated.?I appreciate a desire to look for an explanation for Cho Seung-Hui?s actions and a way to prevent such tragedies in the future. Do I think any amount of trying to reach out to Cho might have helped, however well intended? I?m not so sure about that...continue to full post
