Monday Evening Poll, Free With Advice

By "Daisy Duke"

ADVERTISEMENTS
This poll starts with a story. Followed by a lesson. Which is followed by a poll. And finalized with photos of how dinner turned out last night. Ok? Ok.

On Friday night, BISMOW was invited to a very posh dinner at a very posh site, for some work-related revelry and fun. I'd had a rough, rough week and off we went to enjoy & unwind. The night was still feeling so-so (even after a delicious meal & finger sized desserts including....cheesecake pops!) and NOLA of NOLA Notes suggested I keep imbibing. So I did.

We stumbled home many glasses of delicious wine later and I found myself washing my face in the bathroom, putting pj's on, and suddenly noticing my feet. My feet were...... in the need of some care. (Editors Note: Probably not, but again, wine goggles.)

I'll admit that I'm a pedicure addict. I have dry skin  (the curse of the curly headed gals) and I hate snaggly feet and I like wearing open toed shoes, and I insist on my toes looking nice. So I'm a twice a month pedicure gal. However..... my old job at an awesome $15 an hour, and the new job with the week delay of processing my checking account number,  has led to a total lack of extra funds. (Editors Note: Until Wednesday!! YAAY!)  And in an attempt to "conserve funds" I put off the pedicure an extra two weeks.

And? There, in the bathroom, I decided that that extra week without a pedicure had really caused some problems. And then I couldn't find the clippers. But...I did find the cuticle scissors.

And lets just say that 4 hours of open bar + toe nail trimming of toe nails NOT in need of a trim, with CUTICLE SCISSORS NOT CLIPPERS is a really, really bad idea.

People. I'm talking a really bad idea.

Like, A HORRIBLE IDEA.

Just promise me you won't ever, ever do such a thing. And we will never speak of it again.

And that leads me to the question(s):

How often do you pedicure? Often? Never? Whenever you feel like it, which might be once a month and might be every six months? Or do you HATE the idea of someone touching your feet?

And guys, just for you, do you even *care* if a girl has pedicured feet? Or not so much?

* * *

And now, we will go from feet to food. Excep that makes me feel kind of ill.

So lets take some more space before we get to the food.

Ok. Whew. Food!

Chela, just for you here is my red beans & rice recipe! I think we are going to need some adorable baby photos come time....... promise??

Red Beans & Rice, Pre-Boil Down:

Finished, with the pan of rice (and my tea kettle & great-great grandma's cast iron skillet behind):

Ooh. Finished, creamy, red beans & rice: Two bowls o' beans & rice, with the corn muffins hot & ready to go! I know some people do french bread, but I'm a cornbread gal. Enjoy!!
