: The Faculty LoungeIt's November. Don't Toy With A 1L's Laptop.
By Dan Filler
How much is a laptop worth? If you're a first year law student, one hell of a lot. That's a painful lesson freelance burglar Gabriel Saucedo learned when he broke into the apartment of Arizona State 1L Alex Botsios. Saucedo, armed with a bat, woke Botsios and gathered up a wallet, guitars, and other booty. But he went one step too far when he sought to steal Botsios' laptop. Batsios claims that he said "dude, no -- please, no! I have all my case notes...that's four months of work!" When Saucedo would not relent, he discovered just how much anxiety develops in a 1L by early November. They scuffled. Botsios took Saucedo's bat and punched him repeatedly in the face. Let's just say Botsios won this battle. Most importantly, he's still got the laptop.
Saucedo received stiches and an assortment of criminal charges.
