BitTorrent Inc. Collaborates to Help ISPs Speed Up P2P Traffic

Combine forces to help route file-sharing traffic to local peers and help avoid network congestion. BitTorrent Inc. and Oversi, an Israel-based pioneer of over-the-top (OTT) caching and delivery solutions, today announced their collaboration to deliver an integrated solution that optimizes P2P traffic across the Internet Service Provider (ISP) network. The joint solution brings clear benefits to ISPs: reduced bandwidth costs and deferred infrastructure investments together with a higher quality subscriber experience. The solution involves BitTorrent's intelligent client protocols (Policy Discovery Protocols) communicating with Oversi's NetEnhancer(TM) network intelligence platform to improve peer selection in line with the ISP's network capabilities while speeding up P2P downloads.
