State v. Martinez resumed today before Judge Lebow.  Yesterday, Julie Vogel testified.  We're told she disclaimed any knowledge of the contents of the recordings between attorney Chris Grillo and his client Martinez, apparently not listening to them until the Motion to Dismiss for Prosecutorial Misconduct was filed.  Weissman testified that he listened to them during the trial.Today Weissman took the stand.  The proceedings were fairly uneventful, breaking until Friday at 9:30, allowing Weissman time to refresh his recollection by listening to the tape recorded phone calls one last time.  A few notable things he did remember: listening to a discussion between Grillo's secretary and Martinez before Grillo got on the phone; discussing the contents of the tapes with Mike Satz and Brian Cavanagh;  and hearing Grillo state to his client that he was saving a specific argument for closing argument...continue to full post
