Job Cuts Give Rise to Personal Injury Claims

By Oguz Ozdemir

ADVERTISEMENTS

Due to the failing economy, many jobs have been lost and many homes have been forced to go into foreclosure. Many large companies have been laying off their employees left and right due to the inability to stay afloat in these economic times. Lawyers alike believe that history will repeat itself as the last economic downturn increased tremendously the amount of personal injury lawsuits. Many companies in manufacturing, textiles, food processing, and productions have tried to decrease hours to avoid major lay offs. The downside to this approach is that many workers will be put in positions where they have no formal training or experience. Also, checkups on the workers were not done to ensure that they were not at risk for various hazards in their new positions. Loud noises, hazardous machinery, and quick pace factories could possibly harm workers that were not fully aware of the rules and regulations of their new work environment. Injuries are very likely to occur causing the rise in personal injury claims. A company has the responsibility to look after the safety of their employers especially when putting them into a new position with possible dangers and hazards. If you have been injured due to being thrown in a position that you were not properly trained for contact super lawyers at Napoli Bern Ripka, LLP as soon as possible. They will be able to assess your case and situation and determine how to take your case to the next step.
