Texas is scheduled to carry out its sixth execution of 2009, tonight in Huntsville.  It would be the state's 429th execution since 1982.AP reports that David Martinez has waived his appeals.Martinez asked for permission to waive his appeals and a federal judge last summer ruled he was competent to make that decision. No appeals were in the courts this week and none was expected, lawyers said.Houston's KPFT-FM will host Execution Watch on the web and it's HD radio broadcast signal beginning at 6:00 p.m. (CT), tonight.Martinez' execution will be the ninth execution in the nation this year; the 1,145th execution since 1977.  Earlier today, Tennessee executed Steve Henley.  Nashville City Paper reports, "Henley executed, maintains innocence in final words...continue to full post
