A perfect day to play catchup ... as I have no desire to venture outside on the roads. The first snow of the season has coated tiny Lakeville with a thin veneer of white over the green grass.

First, for all the whining I do about lousy service, I need to sing the praises of two organizations up here in the Berkshires. First, the Canaan, Conn. Comcast folks.  I was having some issues with my HDTV reception, and their service was absolutely excellent, prompt, and thorough, and resolved all my problems. I'm now enjoying gorgeous pictures and sound on all my humble cottage TVs. Thank you Fred!!!

Second, the mobile installation dudes at Best Buy in Kingston, NY are awesome. I was having problems with my reception (a theme, eh?) with my XM Radio that I had upgraded last month, and not only did they diagnose the mystery, (it wasn't easy) but they fixed it on the spot -- about a 2 hour job, too.

That's the way to serve customers... None of the "make an appointment three weeks from now" nonsense that we have to put up with in Manhattan. Wow!

BTW: There's a terrific sale on right now thru Weds, if you are looking for a good HDTV -- check out the 26" LG for $599. I so loved my LG in my apt that I bought another one for my cottage and moved the Olevia downstairs into the den. I'm telling you, HDTV is heroin. Absolute smack. But it makes me very happy, especially when the Yankees are playing.
