Wayne Tompkins was convicted of murdering 15-year-old Lisa DeCarr in 1983 in Tampa. He sought the delay today because he has appeals in other courts. In one case, he has asked a state judge for more DNA testing. Gov. Charlie Crist had DNA tests done on the victim's bone fragments and other evidence before setting the execution for Wednesday.
