Our thanks to "R" who wrote today @ 2:23 PM under JAABLOG entry "The Numbers Are In":"(See) Page #18 of the PDF version of County Criminal Stats. It's the page labeled Convictions. At the bottom under the chart is this interesting asterisked phrase:*Criminal Traffic and DUI dispositions are not included."We did. Our heart pounded. Could it be we were wrong about Satz's really lousy conviction rate on DUI's?Turns out the answer is "probably not".After speaking with Ms. Slayden and Ms. Johnson of the State Courts Administrator's Office Statistics Division in Tallahassee, we learned that DUI guilty/not guilty stats are definitely not included in the numbers provided by their office.  These numbers are collected by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FDHSMV)...continue to full post
