: The Right Side of Life?Porkulus Maximus?: Rep. Gohmert and the GOP; Alan Keyes? Thoughts; Tea Party Movements
By Phil
As Gina Cobb reports in her posting entitled, “If The People Turf The Dems in 2010 They’ll Stop 60% Of The Waste,” Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) suggests taking the platform of promising to rescind the 60% of the “stimulus” bill that won’t be released until later.
And in his most searing commentary yet, former ambassador Dr. Alan Keyes goes on quite the tear against the President and why Barack Hussein Obama’s stances on certain issues are completely contrary to how most Americans view the policies of reasonable governing:
Based on all of the new spending that the President continues to churn out, numerous tea party sites are popping up all over the Internet…
Blog AmericanDaughter.com kicks off my coverage with their report:
Obama?s presidency began with a flurry of scandal-ridden failed appointments. His first month in office was marked by profligate spending unparalled in our national history. His efforts failed to win any Republican support in the House of Representatives, and only included three turn-coat RINOs in the Senate, giving the lie to his claims of bipartisanship.
In the balance between hard-core Marxist liberals on the left and moralistic social conservatives on the right, Obama won the national election by capturing a majority of the war-weary moderates with his promises of hope and change. Now many are having buyer?s remorse. The numbers tell the story.
The markets were high on October 9, 2007. Since that time, the market indicators have lost HALF THEIR VALUE, as the markets price in the Obama presidency. …
The last straw is a mortgage bailout bill that removes the penalty for the imprudent folk who purchased beyond their means at the expense of those who planned more carefully. Speaking from the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade last Thursday, February 19 , CNBC?s Rick Santellicalled for a ?Chicago Tea Party.? …
The idea is catching on. Rick Santelli?s Chicago Tea Party is organizing a mass mailing of tea bags to the White House scheduled for April 1:
On July 4, 1776, the original Patriots put their lives on the line. With an envelope, a stamp, and a bag of tea, millions of Americans can send a peaceful message; our lives have value.
On April 1st, our establishment will know that our freedom to succeed can no longer be sacrificed at the risk of our future.
With sincerity and respect, we ask that you join us on April 1st, 2009, in sending the Oval Office a Tea Bag, in honor of the party in Boston on July 4, 1776, and in anticipation of its nationwide symbolic re-enactment in the summer of 2009.
Anti-stimulus protest rallies had already started across the country:
Seattle on Monday. Denver on Tuesday. Mesa AZ on Wednesday. Overland Park, Kansas today. What a week, huh? We got the anti-stimulus, anti-entitlement protest ball rolling ? and now the movement, spurred further by CNBC host Rick Santelli?s call for a ?Chicago Tea Party,? is really taking off.
The bottom line ? After years of incumbency and watching the lefties rally, march, carry signs, indulge in ?street theater,? the conservatives are now positioned to take shots at the Democrats in power. And you can bet they will enjoy every minute of it.
If you want to get involved, visit the Official Chicago Tea Party Planning Website:
Welcome! This is NOT the ?official? website for all Nationwide Chicago Tea Party activity. This IS the official planning website for the sponsoring groups involved.
The ?Nationwide Chicago TeaParty? sponsored by the #DONTGO movement, Smart Girl Politics (#SGP), Americans for Tax Reform, Heartland Institute, Top Conservatives on Twitter (#TCOT), and the American Spectator will be February 27 at Noon EST.
