: University of Louisville Law FacultyFaculty Blogs: CIT Training Talk, Nursing School Talk
Today I spoke to another CIT training class for the Louisville Metropolitan Police Department. Also, I received the following regarding my recent University of Louisville School of Nursing talk:
March 1, 2009
Professor James T. R. Jones
Louis D. Brandeis School of Law
Belknap Campus
University of Louisville
Dear Professor Jones,
This letter is sent to thank you for your willingness to share your experience related to bipolar disorder with our students. Your presentation to our N422 Mental Health Nursing class on Monday, February 23 was very well received. Sharing your story about bipolar disorder as well as experience in the mental health system was important learning for our nursing students. Especially, your story about your nurse, Nell, and perceptions about the role of the nurse in the mental health care system were important for our students to hear. Nurses are often the unsung heros in the mental health system.
I have heard a multitude of positive comments about your talk to our class. I am passing your card on to the next coordinator for this course recommending that you come again to speak to future students. We look forward to working with you again in the future. Thanks for the work you are doing in educating the public about mental health disorders. I appreciate your support of Mental Health Nursing!
Sincerely,
Karen Robinson, DNS, PMHCNS-BC, FAANProfessor, U of L School of Nursing
