Still

ADVERTISEMENTS
I still suck at blogging! Surprise! Oh well.

I made a variation of this salad on Saturday - quite tasty, thanks Heidi! Here are the modifications I made:

1. I used craisins instead of raisins - I hate raisins. I don't know why, I know they are just dried up grapes. But I kind of hate grapes too so there you go.

2. Since our craisins were sweetened, I didn't use any sugar in the whisky.

3. I only used 1/4 cup of whisky but I used all of it in the dressing (this was accidental but it still tastes good).

4. No pine nuts. We didn't have any pine nuts - the wheat berries are nice and chewy on their own and I didn't miss the crunch.

5. I mushed up 3 oz of goat cheese with 1/2 tsp each of chipotle powder and paprika for that smoky flavor.

Ok, so I changed kind of a lot of things. But it still tastes good! The basic premise is the same - wheat berries + dried fruit + smoky goat cheese = yum.

Work is still crazy. I'm hoping that I can take this weekend off (shhhhh don't tell anyone) or at least take one DAY off. I'm also hoping that this remains the case from now on - I really hate working all weekend, every weekend.
