: Des Moines Personal Injury LawyerMedia On Trial: Did the Media Fail us with reporting Madoff? Part 9
By Steve Lombardi
Today we continue to analyse and ask why the media missed this softball and how over a ten year period there were no questions being asked in the print and electronic media.
The questions I have about media coverage begins with why weren't the doubts about Madoff's investment scheme aired in the news until after he admitted his investment group was nothing more than a Ponzi scheme? It isn't as if there weren't people and evidence to support a news story. So why wasn't it deemed news worthy?
I'm wondering how angry people are going to be when the sentence isn't anything close to 150 years? No way. The emotions will boil over into the prison population. Someone better give this guy soap-on-a-rope.
Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Sentencing date for Prisoner No. 61727-054
Denny Chin, Federal Judge will sentence him on June 16, 2009. Madoff is likely to go to a medium security prison within 500 miles of his home in upstate NY. The likely prisons include Otisville in Upstate NY or Allenwood in PA. He'll be confined to a two man cell and yes he will be allowed to work.
