Blah blah blah

ADVERTISEMENTS
I am so bad at blogging! I am also bad at work-life balance and at eating less than 1400 calories a day. Oh well.

1. Work

Near-constant. I worked three weeks straight and then took a day off, and enjoyed it so much I took a day off the next weekend too. This may become a habit. (Watch work audit us again or something just to screw up my plans...)

2. Working out

Going well. I have been going to spinning once a week and I went for my first real outdoor bike ride of the year on Saturday.* Despite not really feeling like I am that much more fit, the ride was far easier than I expected it to be - higher gears, faster speeds, no weird quad-cramping-up issues. So that was nice.

I'm not sure what my new "fitness goals" should be. Once our office moves (August) I plan to bike to work a couple times a week - it'll be three miles each way instead of 12, so much easier to manage. Maybe I should take up power lifting or something.

3. Foods

Not cooking as much as I would like - been too busy. But I have been trying to plan easy meals and cook ahead a lot. We're eating really, really simply during the week. Also, we have grilled cheese and boxed soup once a week (on average). But it is working for now.

I don't know if I should be trying to lose more weight or not (this is mostly food-related). Unless I really carefully count (and restrict) calories, I don't lose anything. It just takes up so much brain space to keep under 1400 calories and not feel like I'm not eating anything - lots of planning, no flexibility to do things like eat out during the week, etc. It's super annoying.

Also I don't know if I want to do it, mostly because I am lazy. We'll see what I decide I suppose.

*I have decided not to count the Epic Fail Ride I had on a freakishly warm day in March as my first of the year. Mostly because I spent almost the whole time walking my bike since I got a flat tire. It isn't really a "bike ride" if you spend most of the time walking your bike, right?
