Want to Improve Your Blog? Check This Workbook Out

ADVERTISEMENTS

improve your blogMany of our readers are also bloggers, and the ones who are not should seriously consider becoming. Why? Because blogging is one of the most effective ways to improve your writing. Once you have a blog, you will inevitably need to write on a regular basis, and practice makes perfection. Secondly, a blog can also be used as a marketing tool, enabling you to land writing gigs, grow your authority, network with fellow writers and so on.

Creating a successful blog is not easy, though. Most people start writing but after a short while they lose interest because, apparently, no one is reading! If that is you, or if you are just getting started with your blog and want to have some guidance, you should check out a workbook by Darren Rowse titled 31 Days to Build a Better Blog.

Darren is the founder of Problogger, one of the most popular blogs on the web, and the workbook is basically the result of a challenge that he run last month with the same name. After people signed up for the challenge, they would receive one teaching and one task each day, for 31 days in a row. The teaching part carried the concepts and the information that the bloggers needed to understand what was going on, and the task was there to force them to take action and actually apply the information.

Darren sent me a copy of the book via email, and I went through it today. It has 94 pages, broken down on 31 chapters. Each chapter has one teaching and one task, along with links and examples. The interesting thing is that the tasks cover a wide range of topics. After going through all of them you will learn:

  • different techniques to promote your blog
  • how to network and build relationships with fellow bloggers
  • how to come up with ideas and write content efficiently
  • why market research is important and how to do it
  • what metrics you should monitor on your blog
  • different types of posts and when they can be used

And that is just part of it. The workbook costs $19.95, and it is delivered digitally, so you can download your copy right after you purchase it. You can get more information on the official sales page, or purchase it directly via this link.
