While most of Wolf Block?s lawyers have found new jobs after the firm?s dissolution, there is a small contingent that is either still looking or hasn?t announced where it will be going.
That group shrunk by one today with word that counsel Michael Meehan joined the Philadelphia office of Pittsburgh-based Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott as a member.
Meehan joined the firm?s corporate practice group, focusing his practice on government relations, corporate and real estate law, the firm said. He will also continue in his role as general counsel to the Philadelphia Republican City Committee and as an active member of the leadership committee of the Pennsylvania State Committee.
?Michael is a highly respected attorney in the profession and in Philadelphia,? Albert Bixler, member-in-charge of Eckert Seamans? Philadelphia office, said in a statement. ?In particular, his addition to our government relations team will provide great benefit to our clients.?
Bixler said that while many firms have scaled back in response to the economic downturn, ?our focus continues on strategic growth opportunities in Philadelphia.?
Meehan isn?t the first Wolf Blocker to join Eckert Seamans. The firm picked up in April 12 of the 13 Wolf Block lawyers in Harrisburg.
