Growth

ADVERTISEMENTS
It takes an act of congress for me to sit still and NOT multi-task while studying law. I've heard the jokes about needing adderall to concentrate, sit, and study law...now I know why. Earlier I was kvetching about a quiz in class and a mate of mine said this:
Your fate is in your hands...
Snapped me out of my "meh" mood and really pushed me to learn. This is such an immense process. Beyond immense. I get tastes of reality like this and I understand why its done the way its done. Then I realize that someone else's life will one day be in my hands in the legal sense. That's responsibility and sobering.

A friend of mine is going through one hell of a crucible right now. Watching it unfold and being powerless to stop it is just uncomfortable and miserable. Two days ago she bcc'd me on the email she sent to their attorney and wanted me in the loop. Holy hell that she and her dh are enduring right now. Reality check is that I'd be *that* attorney one day and have to make a decision to take the case. Now I see the method to the madness of law school.

I'm being taught to think like a lawyer.

Growth hurts, growth is hard, but its necessary.
