What Does It Take to Be A Logistep Employee Again?

By DrewWilson

ADVERTISEMENTS

Logistep is a known anti-p2p company that has sued tens of thousands of people over in Europe. While there’s been questions raised over the techniques to gather evidence on file-sharing lawsuits, one wonders how one becomes qualified to work at an anti-p2p company in the first place. It turns out, for one person, it took years of experience being a car salesman to be qualified for a job at Logistep.

Members of Gulli apparently stumbled upon the Facebook page of one of the employees of Logistep (Google Translation). It has to do with Thomas Zeeck who is the CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) of Logistep. Apparently, before working hard at making internet users life hard, he worked hard as the Business Manager of Auto Kaiser AG. Still, it’s important to point out that it’s unlikely that he was actually involved in the cases themselves, only selling the business to major corporate entities.

Still, one would think that a little background in computer information and technology would go a long way in this field, but the Gulli report doesn’t seem to make mention of any background in computers. Word of this is unlikely to bring comfort to those who have been sued by the firm. Last year, it was Logistep that was involved in the crackdown in the UK over the now infamous Dream Pinball lawsuits as well as the additional 25,000 lawsuits by top gaming companies (which included an elderly couple) last year. Incidentally, Davenport Lyons, which used information from Logistep, decided to stop suing file-sharers while ACS:LAW decided to pick up where Davenport left off last year.

One thing is for sure, this does seem to put a brighter light on who is responsible for suing people en-mass over in Europe.
