My wife starts her medical residency today, which means this first month of marriage where we've been able to actually spend time together, unfortunately comes to an end with her 12-hour days / 6 days a week / every 4th night overnight.  I'm about to finish a second draft of a play I've been working on for too long, about weddings and wedding planning but really about more than that-- about what we want out of relationships, romantic and otherwise, and sometimes don't get; about finding a balanced life; about cake.  Not sure what I'm going to do with it, but I think there's something there.  I've also been trying to figure out some more structure to my days than just trying to write, and have met with a bunch of folks in different media- and communications-related arenas to see if there might be some sort of fit, freelance or otherwise.  It's been nice to have these first five weeks of marriage be relatively open as far as getting a chance to spend a lot of time together and set up our apartment, cook most of our meals together, and feel a little bit settled and relaxed.  I walked Nina to the bus stop this morning-- was going to walk her to work, but the rain (every day, more rain) meant the bus was probably a better option.  Wet doctor < dry doctor, especially on her first day when she's meeting her patients.

Apologies for the almost-complete lack of recent blogging.  I expect that'll change with the emptier apartment.  Over at Anonymous Lawyer as well-- back to five-day-a-week posting, as long as I can keep it up.
