Denise Morgan, Nashville Resident, Killed in Accident

The woman killed in last week's two-vehicle collision on Donelson Pike has been identified as Denise Marlene Morgan, 54, of Nashville.

According to early police reports, Morgan was driving her 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier north on Donelson Pike at 7:35 pm. At this time, a 1997 Ford Expedition was traveling south when it crossed over the center line and collided with the Cavalier head-on. Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Expedition, Geoffrey A. Hudson of Antioch, received only minor injuries but was transported to Summit Medical center for treatment.

It is not known why the Hudson crossed the centerline and struck Morgan's vehicle, or if either driver failed to yield right of way (Tenn. Code 55-8-197). A blood sample is currently being analyzed for drug and alcohol content. No charges have been filed, but charges may be made against Hudson pending the investigation's findings.
