Liver transplant still on hold for Sellers

Ronald "Joey" Sellers, who petitioned the government for a life-saving liver transplant, has found his request on hold yet again.

U.S. District Judge Kent Dawson said at a hearing yesterday morning that the government could pay for an operation but not find a facility to perform it.  Two facilities, one at UCLA and another at USC, had been approached to provide the surgery.  UCLA did not respond, and USC determined Sellers was not a good candidate.

Sellers is in need of the operation due to having contracted hepatitis-C, he says, in prison.
