Venue shift in fraud, malpractice lawsuit against Proskauer

"Everything may be bigger in Texas, but attorney George M. Fleming is hoping it's better in Nevada. The plaintiff's attorney and University of Texas School of Law donor filed suit on Sept. 2 against Proskauer Rose, alleging that the New York law firm is liable for its role in the development of tax shelters offered by Ernst & Young LLP that the Internal Revenue Service has deemed unlawful."

Customers cry "fake," and art dealer yells "defamation"

"Park West Gallery, which bills itself as one of the world's largest art dealers, is facing several class actions and one individual suit from consumers across the country, alleging it duped them into buying phony art during auctions aboard various cruise lines. Now the Southfield, Mich.-based company is facing a seventh lawsuit, this one accusing it of defamation of another company that is investigating Park West."

Katten lends a hand to family with hateful neighbor

"This week Katten Muchin Rosenman, along with the Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, won a major hate crime award ? $520,000 ? for a Puerto Rican family who had been repeatedly harassed by a neighbor. The award is one of the largest award issued under the Illinois Hate Crimes Act."
