: AFL-CIO NOW BLOGLet Union Plus Double Your Donation to Haitian Earthquake Relief
By Mike Hall
Rebuilding Haiti and restoring any semblance of normal life for Haitian workers and their families devastated by the earthquake is a long-term effort. If you haven’t yet had a chance to help, or wish to donate again to relief efforts, Union Plus will double the good your dollars will do.
Union Plus will match every individual donation up to $100,000 made to the AFL-CIO Solidarity Center’s Earthquake Relief Fund. That means your $10 becomes $20, your $25 becomes $50 and your $100 becomes $200. Click here to donate now. Donations also can be made by sending a check with Earthquake Relief Fund for Haitian Workers in the memo line to:
Solidarity Center Education Fund
Attention: Joan Welsh
888 16th St., N.W., Suite 400
Washington, D.C. 20006
Your donation will help send life-saving relief supplies, including food, clean water, medical supplies, blankets and tents to the Haitian people. Goods are currently being delivered to the Confederation of Haitian Workers training center, which is providing shelter, food and medical assistance for displaced workers and their families.
Click here to learn more about how the Solidarity Center is helping Haitian workers. Be sure to visit the AFL-CIO’s Haitian earthquake site to learn more ways you can help. Click here, here and here to read how the union movement is providing much needed aid to Haiti.
