The three firms advised on a $7.2 billion deal that will see German pharmaceutical company Merck KGaA acquire lab filter and purifier manufacturer Millipore. On the outside looking in is lab equipment maker Thermo Fisher, whose lawyers at Wachtell advised on a competing $6 billion bid for Millipore.
