: New York City Personal Injury LawyerPolice Ask for Help Identifying Man Hit by Taxi on Long Island
By Paul Napoli
Suffolk County Police are asking for help identifying a male pedestrian hit by a taxi in Amityville, reports LongIslandPress.com.
A man described by police as a white, forty-something, Hispanic man whose first name may be Carlos, crossed Route 110 at the Hatcher Court intersection about 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning, when a taxicab driven by 30-year-old Jose Riviera, of Copiague, stuck him. An ambulance transported the unidentified victim to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip suffering from trauma to the head and body.
Riviera had no passengers in the taxi at the time of the accident. Police are investigating and have impounded the vehicle for safety checks.
Witnesses to the accident or anyone who can identify the victim should call the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
