New Owner for Dave & Buster?s

Restaurant and arcade chain Dave & Buster's has been sold in a transaction between billion dollar private equity firms.

In a deal valued at $570.0 million, Oak Hill Partners takes over ownership of the chain from Wellspring Capital Management. The Wall Street Journal reports that Wellspring took the company private in 2006 for 'about $257 million in cash plus debt,' and speculated that a market 'unreceptive to restaurant stocks' led to the sale of the chain, instead of an initial public offering of its stock.

In a press release on its site, Oak Hill called the deal an investment 'in partnership with Dave & Buster's current management team.'
