: FinancialCounselSNSFE Investigates Oppenheimer Core Bond Fund Due To Impermissible Leverage And Exposure To Arbitrage Tactics
By James Eccleston
SNSFE attorneys have launched an investigation into Oppenheimer Core Bond fund. That fund lost 40% of its value during the period October 2008 through September 2009, despite the fact that the Index was down only about 5%.
Oppenheimer used impermissible tactics to exceed the returns of the Barclay's U.S. Aggregate. It used Leverage. For example -- Credit Default Swaps, Total Return Swaps and Mortgage Backed Securities. It also used Index Arbitrage. That included Capital Structure Arbitrage -- such as Preferred Stock, Structured Finance Arbitrage, High Yield Securities, as well as an Underweight of low yield Benchmark securities.
Those with information should feel free to contact attorneys at SNSFE.
