"Big Morale Issue: Do Your Partners Feel They are Being Fairly Compensated?"

One of the parts I listened to was a discussion of fair compensation both internally and externally. The discussion made me think of the many partners I know who have told me they feel they are not fairly compensated.

It is funny, I never thought about whether I was fairly compensated until I learned what my partners were being paid and when other firms offered me substantially more money to join their firm. They say that ignorance is bliss and that was surely true for me.

Even if you strive to keep it secret, your partners will learn what their colleagues are making. They will then evaluate whether they are being fairly compensated. They will also learn what partners like them are making in other firms and they will make the same evaluation.
