South Korea?s Ambassador on Net Neutrality

South Korea's ambassador to the United States Han Duk-soo said in a speech on Tuesday that net-neutrality protections are a critical policy for wireless and broadband. Opponents of reclassifying broadband and wireless services under Title II of the Telecommunications Act would probably disagree, but South Korea has faster average broadband speeds and better adoption rates than the United States. In other words, Duk-soo might know a thing or two about the topic.

"I recognize that different stakeholders have different opinions about net neutrality, but it is important to recognize the issue from the perspective of the entire broadband ecosystem," he said. "Such policies can encourage competition, protect consumers and foster a growth in services and applications."
