Holder was seated in the front row along with other members of the Cabinet, including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk and Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki, among others.

Holder and Emanuel have reportedly disagreed on a number of high-profile issues involving national security. In an open mic gaffe, former White House Counsel Greg Craig recently indicated in private remarks that Emanuel wanted Holder out.
