DA: Latino people underrepresented in San Diego juries

The San Diego district attorney's office says Latino people are being underrepresented in courts there, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported. 

Prosecutors asking court officials to fix the problem that's causing the underrepresentation - downtown courts are not summoning jurors proportionally from around the county. Two thirds of jurors in the central judicial district are summoned to downtown courts, even though they make up less than half of the eligible jurors.

Prosecutors claim that districts like North County and South Bay, which have big Latino populations and make up nearly a third of eligible jurors, are receiving fewer summonses then they should.
