: TinytechIPUS Patent 7841714 - Retinal light therapy with nanocrystal glasses
Retinal light therapy has been used to treat sleep and psychiatric disorders. This patent from Quantum Modulation Scientific Inc. teaches a lightweight light therapy system built into eyewear which incorporate quantum dots. Claim 1 reads:
A retinal melatonin suppressor comprising:
a lens and a photoluminescent material including nanocrystals applied to only a portion of the lens to emit photons at a selected wavelength toward a retina of a wearer of the suppressor.
