: FinancialCounselEccleston Law Investigates Aircraft Leasing Company for Securities Fraud
By James Eccleston
Eccleston Law has launched an investigation into Hyatt Johnson Capital, LLC and BCI Aircraft Leasing, Inc. in connection with a fraudulent aircraft leasing scheme. Eccleston Law is also seeking information on Jason R. Hyatt, Jay Johnson, Brian Hollnagel, Martin Collier, and Robert Carlsson in connection with their role in this fraud.
It is believed that between 2000 and 2009, the companies and individuals subject to the investigation fraudulently induced investors purchase securities in at least 10 limited liability companies that were purportedly engaged in commercial aircraft leasing. These entities were all controlled and managed by Hyatt Johnson Capital and BCI Aircraft Leasing.
Based on promises of a safe yet high return on investment, the perpetrators of this fraud convinced more than 120 investors to invest approximately $82 million in this fraudulent scheme.
To the detriment of the investors, the companies failed to use the funds as promised. For example, over $2 million of investor money was used to fund the startup costs of a Latin-themed restaurant. Moreover, some of the individuals involved in this scheme misappropriated the investor money to support their extravagant lifestyles, such as Jason Hyatt and Jay Johnson, who allegedly misappropriated at least $5 million of investor funds for personal use.
If you have lost money investing with any of the above aircraft leasing or finance companies, or if you have information about this fraudulent scheme or the individuals perpetrating this fraud, please contact Jim Eccleston at the Eccleston Law Offices at 312-332-0000.
