: Peanut Butter BurritoBaby Escalade
By Andrea
I was in a Kmart yesterday waiting for some incredibly slow employees to figure out how much a pack of dry erase markers without their UPC code cost, and saw a Power Wheels Cadillac Escalade in a huge box for the low price of $385. It has a tinted windshield, "chrome" wheels, and a pretend CD player that plays rap, pop, and rock. Good lord. I couldn't stop shaking my head at the mere existence of this product. A tricycle is like $50, right? Ay.
It also comes in a pink Barbie Escalade version. NATURALLY.
I seriously hate large electronic toys. Expensive, prone to breaking, low on imagination. You're trying to shove in the batteries, the kid is in the corner rolling in the wrapping paper and laughing. I mean, I'm not evil, if my kid is dying for something and it's not crazy I'm going to get it. But 20 years after the fact, I remember both that I wanted a Lite Brite and a Teddy Ruxpin, and that I didn't get either, yet lived to tell the tale. (Mom: I always knew you hated me.)
And since this is a mom post, my little bug went to her 2-month appointment (a little late) and is 2 feet even, 12 1/2 pounds. Shrieked at her shots, forgot about it instantly, and is now conked out in her crib. Good girl.
