: FinancialCounselSEC Charges Raymond Morris and his Utah Companies with Orchestrating $60 Million Ponzi Scheme
By James Eccleston
Eccleston Law has learned that the SEC has recently charged Raymond Morris, James Haley, Jay Linford, attorney Luc Nguyen, E&R Holdings, LLC, Wise Financial Holdings, LLC, Momentum Leasing, LLC, Cornerstone Capital Fund, LLC, Vantage Point Capital, LLC, and Freedom Group, LLC with unregistered fraudulent offers, sales and purchases of securities.
From March 2007 through January 2009, Morris and entities raised over $60 million from more than 90 investors, who believed that they were investing in various real estate development projects.
Instead of using these funds for real estate development purposes as promised, Morris used the investor funds to support his extravagant lifestyle and, in typical Ponzi-scheme fashion, to make interest payments to earlier investors.
Eccleston Law Offices, P.C. represents individual and institutional investors in securities disputes nationwide. Our attorneys also help victims of Ponzi schemes pursue recovery through the submission of SEC receivership claims or through the filing of a Theft Loss Tax Deduction with the IRS.
If you have lost money investing with Raymond Morris or any of his companies, or have more information about this fraud, please contact Jim Eccleston at the Eccleston Law Offices at 312-332-0000.
