By Jim Hamilton
The conference will feature two panel discussions and a luncheon with a keynote speaker. The first panel discussion, "Dodd-Frank Implementation: The Future of Financial Reform," will spotlight how investors are faring in the implementation phase of the Dodd-Frank Act as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission deliberates critical areas of reform. The panel will focus on the changes in store for investment adviser and broker-dealer regulation resulting from the Act's many studies and rulemakings. The second panel presentation, "Exotics in the Neighborhood," will examine the exotic choices increasingly offered to retail investors, including structured products, exchange-traded funds and secondary market offerings.
A meeting with the NASAA Ombudsman, Arizona Securities Director Matthew Neubert, will conclude the formal conference program.
Conference attendees may register online on the NASAA website at www.nasaa.org. Registration fees are $150.00 for federal government employees and $495.00 for representatives from the financial services industry and self regulatory organizations. Participants desiring hotel accommodations may contact the Washington Court Hotel at (202) 628-2100 and provide the reservation code "NASAA Spring Conference" in order to receive the special discounted conference rate.
