: FinancialCounselUBS Lehman Principal Protected Notes Disastrous for Investors
By James Eccleston
UBS Lehman principal protected notes are structured products that were sold by UBS which have become completely worthless following the collapse of Lehman Brothers in 2008. Many investors have suffered significant losses investing in this product.
The Lehman principal protected notes are securities known as ?structured products?, which are investments constructed by Wall Street firms from a combination of securities including stocks, bonds, commodities and derivatives. They are often sold with the promise of partial or full principal protection.
UBS, who was the second largest vendor of the Lehman principal protected notes next to Lehman Brothers itself, allegedly failed to fully disclose the risks associated with the products. UBS also is believed to have represented to investors that the Lehman principal protected notes were a safe, risk free investment where investors would receive the principal amount of their investment back once the note reached maturity.
Many investors who have suffered substantial losses are now pursing recovery by filing FINRA arbitration claims against UBS. A FINRA arbitration panel recently awarded more than $2.2 million to an investor in FINRA arbitration against UBS Financial Services related to the sale of the Lehman principal protected notes.
Investors in who have lost money in Lehman principal protected notes that were sold by UBS are encouraged to evaluate filing an individual securities arbitration claim to attempt to recover their losses.
If you have lost money investing in a Lehman principal protected note sold by UBS, your losses may be recoverable through securities arbitration. Please contact Jim Eccleston at the Eccleston Law Offices at 312-332-0000 for more details.
