: Legal Theory BlogEd Baker
By Lawrence Solum
It is with great sadness that I learned today that Ed Baker, the distinguished constitutional scholar at the University of Pennsylvania, passed away yesterday. I last saw Ed at the conference on Dworkin's new book at Boston University in September. Ed was a significant contributor to fundamental debates in constitutional theory for decades and his work on the freedom of expression was widely acknowledged as of the highest order of importance. His books include:
-
Human Liberty and Freedom of Speech (Oxford 1989)
Advertising and a Democratic Press (Princeton, 1994)
Media, Markets, and Democracy (Cambridge, 2002)
Media Concentration and Democracy: Why Ownership Matters (Cambridge, 2007)
