Getting the (mostly favorable) Janet Maslin treatment in the New York Times today is Duquesne Law constitutional professor (and interim dean) Ken Gormley, Gormley wrote a book on the Starr investigation, and got the sort of access that faculty at schools with higher scholarly impacts and less controversial relationships with the university can only dream about.  Gormley interviewed Clinton, Starr, Lewinsky, Tripp, Jones, justices and judges ... pretty much everyone.  And he got his book deal on the strength of some legitimate popular writing chops (including work for Rolling Stone - fun!).

The Starr investigation was one interesting constitutional crisis.  Gormley's history of it isn't the most immediate, perhaps, but it looks like it might be the definitive second draft. What can business academics learn from this achievement?  My lesson would probably be that if you must be a constitutional law professor, you should probably hope you get to be Ken Gormley.
