    Cohen     FinkelsteinThe Public Defender's Office has filed a Motion For Disqualification Of Judge with Judge Geoffrey Cohen.Judge Cohen is, of course, the presiding judge in the felony domestic violence division.  He has served in that capacity for over ten years.The issue centers on Cohen's involvement with the Judicial-Legal Council of Women in Distress (JLC), the teaching arm of Women In Distress, the victims' rights agency dedicated to Stop Abuse For Everyone (SAFE) through intervention, education and advocacy.  Cohen is also alleged to have supported the entire agency financially.Apparently, a motion filed by an earlier defendant was granted, and one later denied, after Cohen had resigned from the JLC...continue to full post
